| GOING GREEN |
Arup Associates has worked with The CarbonNeutral Company to offset carbon emissions resulting from the BCO Dublin Conference. Carbon emissions contribute to the greenhouse effect and are caused by burning fossil fuels, for example by air travel and energy use in buildings. Carbon offset compensates for these emissions in two ways; by implementing energy efficient, low carbon technologies that mean less carbon is emitted than otherwise, and by planting additional forests to help nature absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. By balancing the emissions caused by the conference with measures to offset those emissions, the BCO conference will be carbon neutral.
For the BCO Conference, account has been taken of emissions from flights and other travel to and from the conference and for technical tours, energy used in accommodation, catering, consumables and energy used at the conference venue.
The cost of ensuring the BCO Conference is Carbon Neutral is £6 per delegate. If you wish to contribute, please insert the £6 charge on your booking form.
